- Who Am I ?
Hello (again), My name is Yuri Owens, and I'm an African American graphic designer studying at UNLV.
I don't have a complicated explanation for why I do what I do. It was simply that I enjoyed watching cartoons and playing video games and thought, "I want to do that." I discovered my passion for art in late elementary school and continued into middle school, and I've been doing it ever since.
That being said, I've done the majority of my art traditionally until recently and am still relatively new to digital design; I mean, I haven't seriously graphically designed anything before the year 2021. I still enjoy traditional art, but I chose to pursue graphic design because I saw it as an opportunity to elevate my art given the variety of facets/niches available in this profession. I'm still learning and working to improve my craft every day. Below are the programs I primarily work in:
